# BTCSwap

> BTCSwap (btcswap.io) is an instant, non-custodial crypto-to-crypto exchange: 1,019 assets across 177 networks, swapped from the user's own wallet to the user's own wallet with no account and no KYC, at a live (floating) or locked (fixed) rate. Fees and limits are shown before anything is sent.

Key facts:
- No account, no email, no identity document, at any amount. The one documented case where a swap can be held: a deposit flagged by the sanctions / known-theft screening that the settling desk runs on every deposit address (see https://btcswap.io/aml).
- Non-custodial: one deposit to an address created for that order only, one payout straight to the address the user gives. No balances, no withdrawal step, no fiat, no card payments.
- Rates: floating (settled at market when the deposit confirms) or fixed (locked for a countdown, about 20 minutes). Both network fees and the margin are already inside the quoted amount; nothing is added after confirmation.
- Revenue: the spread only — the difference between the wholesale rate and the quoted rate. Liquidity and settlement come from an exchange engine BTCSwap routes to.
- Catalogue right now: 1,019 assets across 177 networks, 512 of them lockable at a fixed rate (figures read from the engine when this file is generated).
- If a swap cannot complete, the deposit is returned to the refund address given at creation, minus the network fee of the return; BTCSwap charges nothing for a refund.
- Orders are identified by an order ID only (no login); status, deposit and payout transaction hashes are public at https://btcswap.io/track.
- The web server keeps no access log and the site loads no third-party script. Public JSON API without key: https://btcswap.io/api (reference) and https://btcswap.io/openapi.json (OpenAPI 3.1).
